The University of Jyväskylä is launching a master’s degree programme in sport coaching science in Helsinki in cooperation with the Sports Institute of Three Campuses and the Metropolitan Area Sports Academy Urhea.

Researchers realized long-sought two-dimensional topological material. The work was led by Associate Professor Kezilbeiek Shawulienu and carried out in collaboration with colleagues from Aalto University.

Ilia Sokolovskii has won the shared Gust. Kompan Prize for his 2024 doctoral thesis in chemistry. Sokolovskii developed a multiscale molecular dynamics model, which helps us understand how energy transfer in organic materials can be improved.

In its organising meeting on 16 January 2026, the University Board of the University of Jyväskylä appointed Professor Antti Koivula as the chair of the board. DSc (Econ.), Lic.Phil Hanna Maula was appointed as the vice chair.

The University of Jyväskylä received funding of €300,000 from the Ministry of Education and Culture to develop a functional bilingual bachelor’s degree programme in early childhood education.
