Centre for Interdisciplinary Brain Research (CIBR) provides research facilities and support for neuroscience across faculty boundaries.

Centre for Interdisciplinary Brain Research houses state-of-the-art techniques for measuring and stimulating the nervous system, ranging from the single-neuron level to the brain and bodily functions. These are used in research activities that focus especially on brain changes throughout the lifespan and in relation to learning and development, well-being, and physical activity.

Neuroscience in Jyväskylä

Study of the nervous system has a long history at the University of Jyväskylä. At the moment, brain research is conducted in the areas of psychology, music science, health sciences and biology of physical activity. Common themes include depicting changes related to development, aging and learning, the identification of abnormal brain activity and the effects of various interventions. Our research falls under broad themes that reflect our areas of special expertise. Computational methods and information technology are also utilized in our research.
